The municipality of Val de Louyre et Caudeau is organising the event ‘A la Nouvelle Orléans’ on Thursday 2 May at 8 pm at the Espace Culturel André Malraux in Cendrieux as part of the Scènes d'agglo programme in collaboration with AGORA PNC and this time also in collaboration with the Festival Musiques de la Nouvelle-Orléans en Périgord (MNOP).
A la Nouvelle Orléans - D. L'Homond, M. Herblin, G. Wilmot [Fairytale - Jazz].
‘Daniel L'Homond, poet and storyteller from the Périgord, has a humorous and mischievous approach to the French language.
Fuelled by his travels, his creative talent shapes pieces of contemporary stories that are both astonishing and imaginative, experimental and wondrous.
À la Nouvelle-Orléans is a mixture of fairy tales and jazz, a tasty musical cocktail of blues notes coloured by Guillaume Wilmot on piano and Michel Herblin on harmonica.
From the Mississippi to the Rue Bourbon, intrigue is brought to life. The music shapes the story, just as the story shapes the music. And when it rains in New Orleans, the night suns spit rainbows, they say... This laboratory of narrated life bubbles over with generosity. An enchantment for the ear? Just listen’.

"8th edition of a festival born from the desire of the inhabitants of our small village to give colour and originality to their festival by referring to the origin of its name: Saint Laurent des bâtons. This gave rise to the idea of celebrating wood, the tree and the forest in all its forms.
Since 2012, many delights have been shared with an increasingly numerous audience and speakers, artists and craftsmen (3000 visitors in 2022!).
Year after year, we have welcomed more and more craftsmen and artists for whom wood is a source of inspiration, a favourite material and a passion to share, for whom the stick is not just a support or a weapon, for whom the tree is a companion whose secrets are discovered more and more.
This year, after the Basque Country, Galicia, Auvergne, Burgundy, Charente and Corrèze, which still follow the Way of St James in an imaginative way, we are celebrating the Landes department. Les Landes, the largest forest in France, but also the land of heaths, lakes and endless beaches. A land where stilt walkers, gemstone collectors, ... but also the land of great rugby players and great chefs. And also the land of a great poet, Bernat Manciet, who died in 2005 and lived in Sainte Alvère, where he wrote and drew and whose 100th birthday the Nouvelle Aquitaine region is celebrating.
As with every edition of this festival with lots of surprises, you can move from one moment of happiness to the next for free, before dancing in the evening to gascogn songs by the group Pipit Farlouse, named after a small, endangered bird of the willows."
The third edition of the Retro-Campeur flea market, a must-attend event (not only) for retro camping fans, is taking place this weekend in Saint-Astier. In addition to the exhibition of vintage camping vehicles, the event promises a festive atmosphere with concerts, a street theatre performance and an evening of music that will delight all participants. On Sunday, everyone can browse for retro pieces at a flea market to complete their collections or decorate their own camping equipment. The activities are designed to be fun for everyone, including a fashion show where participants can dress up in period clothing.

Numerous animations
Animation, traffic, route... The procession of the Olympic flame in Bergerac on Wednesday 22 May 2024 is "a historic moment" for the town of Cyrano.
From 8.30 am, 150 musicians from the Trèfle gardonnais and the school orchestras from Bergerac and Eymet will play the anthem of the Olympic Games in the car park of the Collège Eugène-Le-Roy. Afterwards, the Olympic Village on Quai Salvette and Rue de la Résistance will come to life from 10.30 am with a climbing wall, a USB Rugby bouncy castle, motor skills courses and areas for various disciplines such as judo, fencing, football, volleyball and athletics. There will be a focus on health sports and a stand on the subject of sport and secularism. The programme includes numerous sports demonstrations and presentations. Music bands, parades and clown shows will also be on offer. From 7.30pm to 9.30 pm, the city and the Union interprofessionnelle bergeracoise are also planning an Olympiad in the Rue de la Résistance with various competitions.
The route of the Olympic flame will not be limited to the city centre. The convoy will leave at 8.50 am from the Gymnase du Tounet sports centre (Rue Léger-Vauthier) on the Left Bank. It will pass through Rue du Bois-Sacré and Rue de la Marseillaise before joining Avenue du Maréchal-Leclerc and Avenue Paul-Doumer. It will pass through Rue Georges-Clemenceau, Vieux-Pont, Rue Neuve-d'Argenson, Boulevards Maine-de-Biran, Jean-Moulin and Beausoleil, then Rue du Pont-Saint-Esprit, Rue Saint-James and Rue Saint-Georges before arriving at Quai Salvette at 10 am. The convoy will continue towards Sarlat at exactly 10.12 am. From Tuesday 21 May at 5 pm, parking will be prohibited on all roads used by the convoy. On Wednesday 22 May, traffic on these roads will be completely closed from 7 am to 11 am and will only be gradually reopened afterwards. Please note that although it will be possible to drive within the city centre area, no exits will be permitted between 7am and 11am. As access to the city centre is not possible between 7am and 11am, the Wednesday weekly market will not take place on 22 May in the morning. The city has decided to bring it forward to Tuesday evening, 21 May, when the small organic market traditionally takes place around the Notre-Dame church.
Book your evening! Save the date!
Alone or with friends, come and join the quiz on 22 May 2024 at 7.30 pm in the Sainte-Alvère bar.
You'll learn a few things, but above all, you'll have fun!
It is an atypical match that will take place on Saturday 25 May 2024 on the pitch of the Gaston Simounet stadium in Bergerac. Rugby-playing gendarmes from the Dragons bleus will take on the winegrowers and wine lovers of the Quinze de la Grappe to raise money for the war wounded and the families of the victims.
In addition to the game, soldiers will be present to present their professions and specialisations. Soldiers from the 515th Regiment du Train will be there with equipment and motorbikes, as well as a canine squadron from the gendarmerie and stands from the Bleuet de France, the gendarmerie cadets and the gendarmes of the Peloton de surveillance et d'intervention.
The event starts at 1 pm, kick-off at 2 pm. Afterwards, spectators can watch the European Cup match between Toulouse and Leinster on the big screen at 3.45 pm.
The whole thing takes place over two days from 8.30 am to 6.00 pm in Vignette, very close to Perrot en Périgord. Take a detour and watch the race on the prairie.
And if you feel like it, sign up for Saturday evening's meal:
