Here are a few ideas for outings as part of the "Châteaux en fête" celebrations, compiled by the Sud Ouest newspaper:

On Saturday 13 and Saturday 27 April 2024, the town of Périgueux will be taking part in the "Châteaux en fête" event organised by the Comité départemental du tourisme, which will highlight the historical and architectural heritage of the Dordogne and its 1001 castles for a fortnight!

Due to the weather forecast (heavy thunderstorms are forecast for the day and evening of 27 April), the 2nd evening of ‘Châteaux en fête’ in Périgueux has been postponed until Friday 17 May.

In Périgueux, the remains of the Middle Ages include a fortified house known to the inhabitants of the Périgord as Château Barrière. On the occasion of "Châteaux en Fête", it will be the setting for two major family events, festivals, pyrotechnic displays and heritage events.

Come and celebrate Easter at Quai Cyrano! The programme includes a colourful egg hunt, a fun Easter tour, an Easter egg box, a funfair and a treasure hunt.

Event cancelled: "It was with great sadness and tears in our eyes that we took the decision this evening to cancel the 2024 edition of Printemps de Minou in the face of more than uncertain and very cold weather."

This year's Le Printemps de Minou will take place on Saturday 27 April 2024 on the Place Centrale in Monpazier, starting at 2 pm for the opening of the open stage and at 6 pm for a wild evening that should keep us going until late into the night.

The programme is all set, and once again there's something for everyone. Food trucks and kegs of beer are booked!

Fashion on wheels is back again this year!

On Sunday 28 April, you can take part in the fashion show organised by  Avenir Sarlat in collaboration with the Point Info Jeunes of the Communauté de Communes Sarlat Périgord Noir!

Models from the upcoming spring-summer clothing collections will be presented, accompanied by new and vintage cars and motorbikes.

All the models will be dressed and accessorised by the participating clothing and cosmetics retailers and styled and made up by the Lycée Saint Joseph's hairdressing department. In addition, the affiliated car and motorbike dealers rent out motorbikes and cars. The podium is decorated by a florist.
